What is DirectX and how do I download and install it?
The 3D-Hub Player requires a specific version of Microsoft DirectX in order to run efficiently. If your system doesn't have this version of DirectX available, you can download it from the links below.
This download will not remove other versions of DirectX that may already be on your system. Rather, it will add the DirectX support required by 3D-Hub Player to the components already installed on your system.
To install from the web (recommended), click the link below, then follow the prompts. We recommend you choose to "Run" the web installer rather than "Save" it.
Run the Microsoft web-based DirectX installer
What operating system does 3D-Hub Player require?
Microsoft® Windows® 7, Microsoft® Windows Vista®, 64 bit and 32 bit versions are both supported (the software is not currently Mac compatible).
Why are the graphics requirements so high?
3d-Hub Player takes full advantage of the huge graphics hardware advances that have been primarily driven by computer games. The graphics hardware required to run 3d-Hub Player is not expensive, but it is specific. The cheapest laptops and the thinnest and lightest laptops often will not run the 3d-Hub Player effectively. Desktop systems may require a graphics card upgrade.
Does the 3d-Hub Player benefit from a fast CPU or dual processors?
3d-Hub Player is more dependent on the graphics processing unit (GPU) than it is on the central processing unit (CPU). That said, if your content is integrating lots of video, audio, and other 3D assets you will definitely see a benefit from dual and quad processor systems.
